Clay Witt is a painter, printmaker, calligrapher, and jewelry designer. He holds a BA from the University of Virginia and an MFA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He was the recipient of a Fulbright grant to study Arabic calligraphy in Damascus, Syria, and now lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with his wife and two children. His work combines an idiosyncratic technical practice with quiet meditations on the natural world, in the context of a personal mythology and mysticism.
